The Undiscovered Tuscany - 3Day (4 nights)With this package you will learn from Giuseppe at his own B&B and culinary school, "Il Molino". Set by a stream, the stone structure was once a water powered mill where Giuseppe's family produced olive oil. In this intimate environment, you will enjoy in-depth classroom training with visits to Montecatini Terme, famous for its thermal waters and health spas, as well as the San Miniato area, a treasure for truffle hunters. 1st day - your arrival welcome reception and dinner • Arrival at Florence or Pisa airport. Transfer with Mercedes minivan. • Welcome aperitif with appetizers. Settle in your rooms. • Dinner with the Chef Giuseppe where he'll introduce the following days programs.
2nd day - market visit - half day class with lunch - visit to Montecatini Terme - dinner at a traditional pizzeria • After breakfast, an escorted tour to the village market in Monsummano Terme. There you'll choose seasonal produce and groceries on which the morning lesson will be based: lessons on how to make Tuscan-style pastas, soups and sauces: favorites such as ribollita soup, hand-made pasta with Tuscan ragout, and traditional desserts. • Lunch will follow paired with Tuscan D.O.C. wines. In the afternoon, an escorted tour with the chef to the historic village of Montecatini Alto and then on to the town of Montecatini Terme to see the famous spa and enjoy an artisan-made gelato on the main boulevard. • Dinner in a pizzeria at a nearby village (additional cost).
3rd day - visit to San Miniato - half day class with dinner. • After breakfast, an escorted tour to San Miniato, a Medieval walled town located in the center of Tuscany. Its historic centre is set on a hilltop with cathedral, Episcopal palace, municipal palace and tower fortress overlooking the surrounding Arno and Era rivers. San Minato is acknowledged as one of the "Slow Food" towns of Italy due to its wealth of artisan foods, especially it's world-renowned white truffle. • A tasting of truffle-based spreads and cheese with honey will be enjoyed together with your host Giuseppe and fellow classmates at a nearby shop. • Lunch included in a local trattoria and final purchases of food and wine for the last class. • Back to the Molino kitchen for preparation of the farewell dinner ...paired with wines from a local winery.
4th day - departure • Breakfast followed by transfers back to Florence or Pisa.
